Look, we get it. Following road signs is like following the rules at a dive bar... You ignored the "NO SMOKING" sign and now you're out on the sidewalk. The MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) is basically the bartender of the highway, using colors to tell you exactly what's going on before you spill your drink.
Red (Stop/Prohibition): Red means NO! This is the "closed" sign on the keg. When you see red, you stop or you don't enter—no arguments.
White (Regulatory): These are the house rules, like "No Tabs." They tell you the speed limits and which lane you need to be in.
Yellow (Warning): This is your buddy tapping you on the shoulder saying, "Hey, watch out." It alerts you to curves, intersections, or people crossing the street ahead.
Green (Guide): This is the GPS for your road trip. It gives you exit info and street names so you actually reach your destination.
Blue (Services): The most important color when you're hungry or low on fuel. It points you toward gas, food, and the nearest hospital.
Orange (Work Zone): The universal sign for "Prepare to sit in traffic." Used for road work and closed lanes.
Brown signs are basically the "Tourist Traps" of the highway—they'll lead you right to the parks, landmarks, and historic sites.
